As a wedding photographer, I am often granted the privilege of documenting love stories that touch the heart and inspire the soul. Among the many beautiful weddings I’ve had the honor to capture, Ari and Kyle’s wedding in the breathtaking Philippines was a journey of emotions, traditions, and unforgettable moments that will forever be etched in my memory. Ari and Kyle’s dreamy wedding day at the El Nido Resort in Miniloc Island, Philippines was one of those days where every detail was utter magic!
The sun tucked behind the clouds after 3 days of intermittent tropical rain and the beautiful overcast provided the day with perfect lighting as we all woke up on the incredible beachfront resort El Nido where Ari and Kyle’s wedding was to take place. The air was filled with a mix of anticipation and excitement, and I could sense that this day held a special place in the hearts of everyone present. From the very beginning, it was evident that this celebration would be an extraordinary blend of love, culture, and natural beauty.
Ari was the epitome of elegance as she prepared for her big day, and did first look with her family and closest friends before seeing her groom. Her eyes sparkled with a mixture of nerves and happiness as she slipped into her gown, a breathtaking creation that beautifully merged modern luxury design and intricate bird details that are sentimental to her and Kyle’s relationship. The intricate beadwork and delicate lace seemed to reflect the essence of her vibrant personality, paying homage to both her cultural heritage and her modern sensibilities.
Meanwhile, Kyle exuded giddiness and an excitable energy as he wore his traditional barong, with hand embroidered roses to pay homage to his bride’s maiden name del Rosario (“of the garden of roses”). The traditional attire seemed to highlight his appreciation for Ari’s background, showcasing the harmonious fusion of their two worlds.
Ari + Kyle’s first look was a sight to behold, set against the stunning backdrop of the Philippine coastline. The gentle sea breeze seemed to carry their love, making the moment even more magical. This private moment bound the couple’s love and future as they embarked on their journey as husband and wife.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the ocean, the ceremony felt like something straight out of a dream. Seeing the love between Kyle and Ari made my heart so full! Their vows had the entire beach tearing up, and then laughing the next minute! Being surrounded by such natural beauty only enhanced the emotion and love during their ceremony. I feel so honored to have been a part of such a wonderful day!
As the sun began its descent, casting a warm bluish glow over the horizon, it was time for the reception. The couple boated over to a private island where their guests awaited their arrival. The open-air setup felt like something out of a fairytale! The twinkling lights and the soft sound of waves created an enchanting atmosphere. Once they arrived the the couple’s first dance was a poignant moment, their love illuminated by the vibrant hues of the sunset. I captured every gaze, every touch, and every whispered word, preserving their genuine connection in every frame.
The reception was a true celebration of love, culture, and community. The aroma of Filipino cuisine filled the air as guests mingled, shared stories, and danced the night away. Ari and Kyle’s wedding day at Miniloc Island wasn’t just about two individuals coming together—it was about the convergence of their lives, their cultures, and their dreams.
For Kyle and Ari, it was important for their wedding to be a true reflection of them. Neither of them had a particular love for tradition or formality, but they did have a strong passion for travel and adventure. A destination wedding was the oh-too-obvious choice for these two–no ceremony, no wedding party, no public vows, just a week of epic memories with their favorite people. The Philippines provided the perfect backdrop for lush views, savory food, karaoke, and heartwarming moments with their entire community.
Kyle and Ari set down roots in Kyle’s hometown in California, where his family all lives. They felt it was important to celebrate their marriage in Ari’s home islands, where her family (who mostly still live there) could join in the festivities! The week was complete with a tropical storm, bumpy landings on prop planes, parties in the middle of the rain, bottles of Red Horse (a Filipino staple), belly laughs, happy tears, and more than anything, lots of love.
” It was truly a time to remember–and thanks to Devyn B Photos, remembering will be a little easier.”
Overall, the Ari and Kyle’s dreamy wedding day at Miniloc Island, Philippines was not just a wedding. It was an beautiful gathering that embraced the beauty of nature and the intense bond between these two. This unforgettable day was a true reflection of the couple’s love and the stunning environment that surrounded them. It was an extraordinary celebration that truly embodied the spirit of their journey together!
